BIOGRAPHY:

Cymone Bouchard starred for the University of Regina’s women’s basketball team for five seasons, leading the Cougars to their first national title in 2001 and first Canada West championship in 2004.


She was named Player of the Year for both CIS and Canada West in 2004 after receiving the CIS Defensive Player of the Year award in 2003. Bouchard earned back-to-back selections to both the CIS and Canada West First Teams in 2004 and 2004.


Bouchard was voted MVP of the 2001 CIAU championship tournament after leading Regina to victories over McMaster, Calgary and Alberta, and was recognized as a tournament all-star at the CIS championship in 2004 when Regina won silver.


Regina women’s basketball all-time scoring-leader, Bouchard totalled 1,439 points over 96 conference games, and had an average of 22.2 points per game in 2002-03. She won team MVP in 2002-03 and 2003-04 and named the university’s female Athlete of the Year for the 2003-04 season.


Following her playing career, Bouchard served two seasons (2006-07 and 2007-08) on the Cougars staff as an assistant to head coach Dave Taylor.


Bouchard was inducted into the University of Regina Sports Hall of Fame in 2009.
