BIOGRAPHY:
A talented midfielder with outstanding vision of the pitch, Ballendine holds the distinction of being the only Calgary men’s soccer player to earn First Team All-Canadian honours and is one of just two ever named to an All-Canadian team.
Ballendine captained the Dinos for two seasons, including 1986 when he scored five goals to rank third in Canada West.
He was a member of the Calgary Kickers that competed in the first season of the Canadian Soccer League back in 1987, and captured the Inaugural Cup by defeating the Hamilton Steelers 2-1 in the championship match.
In 2006, Ballendine was selected to the list of the top 40 Calgary Dinos athletes, which was compiled to commemorate the university’s 40th year.
Ballendine is presently vice-president, portfolio manager and investment adviser with The Ballendine Thakkar Group in Calgary.
